Pricing Policy

Trying to price a painting or a sculpture is an odd experience. Some of them are invaluable to me, and those I don't sell. Others I'm attached to: the more attached I am, the higher the price I put on them. The less, the more likely I am to sell it for little or give it away (and sometimes I wish I hadn't when I discover that I was more attached than I thought I was!). Of course in this arbitrary calculation I have to take what I think the market will accept too. But it is arbitrary. Artists like Van Gogh could never ever have imagined the ultimate value people would one day put on their paintings.

If you like a sculpture or a painting and think it's good others may one day agree and it could prove to be both a delight in your life as well as a good investment. And if others disagree, but you've chosen a painting with your heart, you'll just have the delight.

ORDERING INFO

I understand that buying art directly online without viewing it first can be rather daunting, and would not want anyone to be disappointed on receipt of the actual work. If you are not pleased with what you have received, then please send it back to me and I will send you your money back, provided Ireceive the psculpture or painting in the condition in which I sent it.

If you wish to view the actual work before purchasing then a visit to my studio in NW London is possible by arrangement. There is no obligation to buy and you are very welcome to have a look at sculptures and paintings on this site and many others I haven't managed to upload yet. Any arrangements to see paintings or any discussions about the work can be done through Stephen Frank in London, on 0208 450-4226

If you are interested in ordering any of my paintings directly.

• Click on the Buy this sculpture / painting logo on the page of the peice of art you would like to buy. This will take you to the PayPal website where you can pay by credit card or through your bank.
• If you wish to pay by cheque posted to me or by transferring money directly into my account from your bank email me at sales@luizart.net so that we can establish contact. I'll give you postal and account details once we've made contact.
  
  
• Let me know exactly which picture you want to buy. Once I have received your payment I will send it to you. Postage on paintings and pastels vary; some can be sent carefully rolled in a tube, others need to be sent flat. This affects the weight and consequent delivery charges.
• As of this update there are no postal or other charges when you pay through PayPal, but this could change in future

USA
Depending on size, flat paintings and pastels are sent by post or Federal Express.
Postage rates for smallish paintings and pastels are approximately $10 US.
Larger work that must be packed between hardboard and bubble-wrapped sculptures will be sent by Federal Express.
This charge varies, depending on weight.
An approximate, average cost for a painting sent flat is $55+ US.
Paintings or pastels which can be rolled in a tube and sent by post cost around $10 US.
All costs will be established first and then added to the total.

UK
Depending on size, flat paintings and pastels are sent by Datapost.
Postage rates for smallish paintings and pastels is approximately £5.
Larger work that must be packed between hardboard and bubble-wrapped sculptures will be sent by Datapost.
This charge varies, depending on weight.
An approximate, average cost for a painting sent flat is £10 - £20.
Paintings or pastels which can be rolled in a tube and sent by post cost around £2 - £5.
All costs will be established first and then added to the total.

Europe
Depending on size, flat paintings and pastels are sent by post or Datapost.
Postage rates for smallish paintings and pastels is approximately £5 - £10.
Larger work that must be packed between hardboard and bubble-wrapped sculptures will be sent by Datapost.
This charge varies, depending on weight.
For instance, a painting 36" x 40", sent from London to Greece, will cost £35 - £40.
Paintings or pastels which can be rolled in a tube and sent by post cost around £2 - £5.
All costs will be established first and then added to the total.
